Machine Light is Berlin based British designer Ben Raine. Inspired by Brutalist architecture and early 20th century designers, Machine Light creates stripped-down futuristic lighting that is raw and elegant. Combining striking, deconstructed metal forms with exposed tube bulbs, the result is a new form of industrial lighting that integrates into a wide range of interior styles.

Machine Light specialises in three areas: producing iconic lights for domestic settings, custom commission builds, and design and installation services for commercial spaces. Since 2019, ML has worked with the Berlin avant-garde fashion store Darklands, with the aesthetics of each showroom shaped heavily by the bespoke precision lighting.

Machine Light has exhibited lights from its core ‘Dark Structure’ range in Berlin and at Milan Design Week. Each piece is made by hand in Berlin with extreme care and attention, working with the imperfect beauty of the raw materials to create truly unique, ultra modern lighting, that is built to last.
